AC2 David R. LEWIS - 1226538.

No proposed aircraft losses for this day.

Hi Henk
Lewis,20, is registered at Weston-super-Mare,Somerset.
Hadlum didn't show on the register. Sturtivant has 923 Sqn at Warrington ,Lancashire.As far as I know there is no Runcorn in Gloucestershire, but there is one in Lancashire close to Warrington.
Hibbs is not on the register but, given his unit, may well have died in Scotland

Harold Robert HIBBS, age 25, registered at Bridge of Earn emergency hospital, Perth. Cause of death given as multiple severe shrapnel wounds of head and right arm. Usual address given as St Mary Cray, Kent.

For Hibbs, it is possible that he was wounded by Flak ,from David's description, on an a/c that survived. 114 Sqn lost a Blenheim shot down off Norway that day according to Warner but he makes no mention of any other 114 Sqn a/c, it does indicate that the Sqn were active on ops. Another possibility is an Air Raid on Leuchars with Hibbs being wounded. The hospital is not far from Leuchars and is accessible by road. In 1941 the road bridge to Dundee(physically closer)did not exist.

AC2 A Hadlum is a DOAS listing Jul 3rd magazine

F/Sgt H R Hibbs is DIED OF WOUNDS OR INJURIES RECEIVED IN ACTION.- An air raid casualty would be KOAS or probably even DOAS.

AC2 D R Lewis is a DOAS listing Aug 14th magazine.

AC2 Arthur HADLUM - 925677 - the Liverpool Evening Echo of November 24th 1941 reported the following:

DRIVER COULD NOT REMEMBER ACCIDENT
An accident which occurred in May, in which a motor-cycle and a motor-omnibus were involved was referred to at Runcorn today at the resumed inquest on Arthur Hadlum, and aircraftman, who resided at Norwood Gardens, Ashwood, Kent. Hadlum was riding pillion on the motor-cycle.
Kenneth Holloway, the driver of the motor-cycle, appeared in court on a stretcher but was not asked to give evidence when he informed the Coroner that he could not recollect anything of the accident.
Coroner Daniel said he himself was always glad to get past the spot where the accident happened when driving. He returned a verdict of Misadventure.
