13) Confirm Service number of Aircraftman William Charles PAYNE 840083 ?? 631032 Died 18 August 1939 He was serving with No 3 Wing, RAF Locking and died when he dived 20 feet off Weston super Mare promenade into shallow water.
14) Service Number of Leading Aircraftman Leslie Protheroe SMITH Died 20 August 1939. He was serving at RAF Cardington was found dead by the side of the Mayford arch having killed by a train between Woking and Worplesdon. He is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery.

12) James Hendry AC2 619541, attached to Number 2 Wing at RAF St. Athan, died in SSQ of a lung abscess
11) Henry Fiddes Leech ( no Number given ) Pilot Officer , killed in a flying accident in Spitfire I K9985 of 611 Squadron, RAF Duxford. Crashed 5 miles SW of Wattisham attempting a forced landing in low cloud and poor visibility
10) Clive James acting Pilot Officer , no Number given, was killed in a flying accident in Audax K7505 which stalled off a turn ferrying between Abu Sueir to Habbiniya when he broke formation over Rutbah Aerodrome when he lost height and failed to recover with a heavily loaded aircraft

Jon its obvious now!!! Many thanks for this one - I should have got it myself - It also explains all the 'H Leech' (Henry Fiddes Leexh 2nd Sept 1939) the second one should be LAC Harry Lee 550251
- who died in Audax K75055 as well and AC1 William Edward Leech 525890 Died 13 August 1939. He died suddenly, cause unknown in Palestine General Hospital and is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery
