    Jon thanks again re: Edward Sidney Clements F/SGT 327835 , RAF St. Athan, died of hemiplegia in SSQ

    re: Henry John Atkins W/O 149244 , attached to Number 2 Indian Wing at RAF Kohat, died in the British military hospital, Nowshera, of heatstroke

    Jon many thanks again - but do you have an actual Date ? Interestingly Henry John Atkins W/O 149244 was still listed in 1945 AFL - His death obviously never made it to the Editors or was not listed in the RAF weekly ?? report - Can't think of the name for this now

    Got two myself

    13) Service number of Aircraftman William Charles PAYNE 631032 Died 18 August 1939 He was serving with No 3 Wing, RAF Locking and died when he dived 20 feet off Weston super Mare promenade into shallow water. - Just need his rank now - Assume AC2

    16) Service number of Aircraftman 2nd Class Leslie PHILLIPS 901020 Killed in flying accident 7 August 1939 at Beachy Head, with Sergeant H D P Farrow and Act Sergeant A J W Sergeant ( Blenheim N6180)

    Missing Service Numbers
    1)* Aircraftman 1st Class Frederick John ALLEN
    Died 18 August 1939. He was serving at RAF Stradishall in 148 Sqn and died in Colchester Military Hospital from injuries sustained when a practice bomb exploded whilst being removed from an aircraft on Tues 15th August 1939 aged 23

    2) Leading Aircraftman Leslie Protheroe SMITHDied 20 August 1939. He was serving at RAF Cardington was found dead by the side of the Mayford arch having killed by a train between Woking and Worplesdon.* He is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery.

    3) Aircraftman 1st Class William Edward LEECH 525890
    Died 13 August 1939. He died suddenly, cause unknown in Palestine General Hospital.
    He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery


    4) Aircraftman 1st Class Joseph Edwin HIBBS 568761
    Died 26 August 1939. The circumstances of his death have not yet been ascertained. *
    He is buried in Maala Cemetery


    Missing Ranks

    5) Peter Dennis Roland 553407
    Died 20 *August 1939.
    Drowned. Peter Dennis Roland Barnes. who went bathing from the beach near the Marine Hotel,
    Schley on that day with a Miss Blackman. of Marsh Perm, Bidiesham.

    6) Verdun BULLIVANT 611507
    Died 21 August 1939. Aged 22, Drowned Colliery Pond Sheffield while bathing alone at night


    Missing Rank and Service numbers

    7) Aircraftman John HART Possibly* 841873* ? though I doubt*it
    Died 30 August 1939. He was serving at RAF Hucknall when he was knocked down and killed after being struck by a tri-car as he walked from Watnell to Hucknall evening 29th Auust 1939.
    Aged 23 Buried St Luke's Church, Gaddesby, Leicester.
