    Died of pulmonary Neoplasm.

    The wrong serial is quoted in AIR81/4507. The aircraft involved was N7265.
    I have amended our database accordingly:

    Date: 9th December 1940 (Monday).
    Unit: 8 Staffel./Kampfgeschwader 77
    Type: Junkers Ju 88A-5
    Werke Nr.3191
    Coded: 3Z + ES
    Location: North Stifford, near West Thurrock, Essex, England.

    It was reported that this aircraft was hit by Anti-Aircraft fire at 17,000 feet. The aircraft crashed in flames and was totally destroyed.

    Hi

    SAVAGE - a little amplification - He was home on leave from RAF Topcliffe and went to RAF Driffield to assist after a raid. During this work he received a bang on the head, later complaining of a headache and died in bed.

    Lucas Samuel Hanton 340278 , died in RAF Hospital West Kirby in the course of an operation due to anaesthetic complications
