Died aged 34 on June 27 1940 during the retreat to Dunkirk. He was serving as ground crew with 72 Squadron and was killed when his lorry struck a land mine.

All , a HUGE THANK YOU For everyone who contributed to the sheet till then. In just a matter of days nearly half the entries have been transcribed.. this would have taken ages otherwise. Very much appreciated.
I note the concern on poorly unaccounted -including Unknown causes, and "Died at X" kind of entries. where possible populate the entries and highlight the field with a Red Background so that we know its poorly accounted. i have marked a few that i could find.
I will be moving the 'done' records to the second sheet in a few hours.

before enlistment"

But he re-enlisted later and listed his prior offence with resulted in a £3 fine for offensive behaviour - Cause of death still unknown but apparently he was admitted 21-5-1940

Thanks for the work.. now only some 700 odd records left.. More importantly found atleast 20 records that needed to be reverted back to unaccounted... listed in third tab.
