A Leutnant and Flugzeugführer [pilot] with 2 Staffel Sturzkampfgeschwader 1, he died on a mission against a convey in the Thames estuary when his aircraft (Ju 87B-1; wn: 5225; J9+BK) was shot down by Spitfires of 92 Squadron RAF (pilots including Pilot Officer Cecil Saunders, Sergeant Charles Alfred Ream and Sergeant Ronald Henry Fokes) and crashed at Cheesemans Farm, Birchington Road, Minster, Kent. The Bordfunker [wireless operator] Obergefreiter Hans Keden was also killed.

This was a Lysander. I can't think of an obvious "dyslexic" serial, anyone got any ideas please?
Also, according to the Casualty file, he was killed on 6 Feb 41. The F540 states 9 Feb 41. Thoughts please?

Just to add to the date confusion, Wheeler's entry on the National Probate Calendar records that he died on February 8th 1941 on war service.
