Gp Capt Thomas Stanley Horry DFC AFC (04062) was OC RAF Kai Tak in 1941 (a formidable force of 7 aircraft I understand!) just before the outbreak of hostilities. He left Hong Kong by ship just before the Japanese attack and clearly remained in the service. The RAF lists show him as S/L acting Wg Cmdr (temp) effective 1 Mar 1940 - presumably acting Gp Capt as OC RAF Kai Tak. In Dec 1944 The Gazette shows he retired at his own request retaining the rank of Gp Capt. I'm interested in his war service after Hong Kong but all my trawling of the RAF lists 1941-44 has failed to turn up any appointments. Short of seeing his service record....any ideas anyone?
