    Default Henry Cox-Rogers RAF

I visited with a good friend today who told me that believed his grandfather, Henry Cox-Rogers, served with 617 Squadron during the war. I realize that this may be a family myth that developed with time and he may also have been ground crew and hence not identified in the ORB's, or perhaps served on another squadron in some capacity.

I would be grateful if anyone could look into this for me, before I start combing through the ORB's. Nothing comes up on a Google search.

My friend lives in Canada and is pretty much out of touch with family in the UK. I would be grateful if anyone could look into this for me if they have the means to do so, before I start combing through the ORB's. Cox-Rogers, hyphenated. He survived the war and evidently died in 1953 from cancer.

    Thanks!

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

If he was born in 1896, perhaps.

Born Islington in the September 1896 Qtr as Henry Stephen C Rogers

Henry S. Cox-Rogers (also appears as Henry S C Rogers) married Dorothy Yates at Holborn in the September 1924 Qtr.

He is shown as deceased at Wandsworth in the September 1954 Qtr, aged 58.

    Regards,

    Dave

Thanks Dave. It’s not likely then that he was RAF.

    Hi Jim,

Here's one to conjure with - 5012 Henry Stephen Cox (alias Cox-Rogers)

His service record is up on AIR 79, dated 1918 - 1928.

So possibly not 617 Sqn but still RAF

    Regards,

    Jeff
