"2-19-1941,El Paso,Texas. A Lockheed Hudson(A-29), one of ten in a shipment to Great Britain, crashed into a radio tower two miles from the Municipal Airport at El Paso, Texts. The Hudson had just taken off from El Paso and was en route from Lockheed factory in Burbank, California to Canada. The cause of the crash was determined to be the Pilots failure to seethe radio tower. The two civilian ferry Pilots killed were Pilot Marino Guglielmetti, 42 Petaluma, California and Co-pilot Robert McKee, 30 Spokane,Washington."

These two airmen along with Sherman H McCaughan (listed above) were crew of
Hudson -T9450 - ATFERO - A take off accident at St.Hubert Airport, QC. Two American and one Canadian were killed.
The airplane was on a delivery flight from California to England via Canada, carrying three crew members. Shortly after takeoff from Montreal-Saint Hubert Airport, the airplane went out of control and crashed, bursting into flames. All three occupants were killed.

Our database entry for this aircraft at:

records a further apparent incident on 9 Apr 41 (Sgt Elsworth, 73 Sqn).
This would seem rather unlikely. Anyone know the correct details please?

Elseworth comes up as V7483 so the loss DB needed correction - i fixed it now.

Just thinking whether these errors would come to light if I was not as one member suggested recently "duplicating " Henks work ? Further to which it was I who took it upon myself to continue Henks work so I personally do not see my work as duplicating it .

I am with you on one aspect - its not duplication, its revisiting old information , however I think whoever suggested it may be trying to get one thread per date and not have multiple threads for a single date - which I also support.

As you may be aware, I have been gradually merging the old Henk thread and your threads to make it easier for the database to work - currently the CWGC DB searches for the first thread for the day and displays it at the top of the daily search option. Thus it needs only one thread per day to exist. In the past Henk had created duplicate threads for a single date - one for each region, I have been merging those as well. So the duplicate threads creates overhead for me - and i have been behind in merging those for a while.

That merging of various threads into one single thread is maybe an acceptable solution for all.

Thank you Jagan, indeed it would make sense to merge all eventually but how it can be done is way beyond me, so I hope that in times ahead your work will be an even greater historic database than now, which is pretty dark ��
