Likely P/O Ross Kenneth Whitney of Chapleau, Ontario. Missing 8 May 1943, returned 12 May 1943. His evasion involved haystacks and lazy Germans. Another article makes mention of the claims by he and P/O George Keith of Taber, AB

Newspaper articles on the story state that "P/O Chapleau is now attached to the famous fighting RAF squadron commanded by S/Ldr George Hill, 24, of Pictou, NS"

Whitney, b. 8 November 1918 Chapleau, Ontario d. 22 August 1989 Vernon, British Columbia. Worked for Texaco post-war.
