1) George William Thomas Coleman 955493 1941-01-09 attached to Number 3 Signals School. He died in RAF Hospital Yatesbury.

His RAF record card is missing. He is not mentioned in the ORB for RAF hospital Yatesbury or that of 3 Signals School

A death certificate purchase is the only way to reconcile his case. He is registered Chippenham 5a 166

2) Ernest Stanley Hodgkinson 627220 attached to 48 Maintenence Unit 1941-01-21

His RAF record is missing. There is no mention of him in AIR 29/1007 the 48 MU ORB . His death was registered in Chester 8a 1018

It is possible he died in Chester hospital for which a register of deaths reference ZHC/10 survives in the Cheshire archives but at present he remains unaccountable until that source is checked or a death certificate is purchased

3) Antoni Gajewski P/780790 is currently accounted but I feel he should revert to unaccounted. He died on 1941-02-10 in Fairfield hospital, Bedfordshire, the cause is wholly unknown

He has no RAF record, and no Polish record. The registers of death for Fairfield hospital are held by Bedforshire archives under references LF41 to LF44 and an enquiry was made to Bedfrdshire archives who, unlike every other archive messaged to date were most unhelpful. Initially they denied holding the registers despite them being catalogued and then said they required a death certificate to prove death and then a fee of £32 per hour to research the cause of death in thier archives. When The inherent farce in this was pointed Out and the fact that other archives have not taken this stance with thier death registers, they ceased to reply. Unfortunately There are several other Airmen who died in this hospital whom have no cause of death in this database.

Unless someone else wishes to take up the baton with Bedfordshire archives, the only way to finalise his record is via the purchase of a death certificate. He so registered in Biggleswade 3b 1007

4) Henry John Clements 84079 attached to RAF Kemble 1941-03-01 . He is register in Chippenham 5a 187. He has no RAF record and no entry in the ORB for RAF Kemble AIR28/418. He has no entry in the ORB for RAF Yatesbury hospital where he potentially died.

There is no way to resolve his case other than by the purchase of a death certificate

5) Leslie Collins 932289 attached to RAF Tangmere 1941-03-22 he is registered in Chichester 2b 1190. He has no RAF record. He has no entry in AIR28/815 the ORB for RAF

Coroner's records and hospital death registers do not appear to have survived to enter the West Sussex Archives so It appears that the purchase of death certificate is the only way to resolve his case

6) Arthur James Pitt 952306. 1941--04-05 He has no RAF Record.. Many files are missing from the P section. No Unit has been identified to check an ORB. He is registered in West Bromwich 06b 131 and the purchase of a death certificate seems the only way to resolve his case

7) Thomas Edward Jackson 351420 1941-05-09. He has no RAF record. I presume he is a post medical discharge death. He is registered in Wandsworth 01D 704. There appears to be no way to resolve his case other than by the purchase of a death certificate

8 ) Frederick Herbert Porter 575868 1941-05-18 attached to 67 MU . He has no RAF record, being one of the missing " P's “ He has no entry in AIR29/1021 The ORB for 67 MU. He is registered in Truro 05C 368. There appears to be no way to resolve his case other than by the purchase of a death certificate
