Default Staff Nurse Kate Grove Died RAF Halton 5 Dec 1931 - Who is She? Census 1921 Look up

Staff Nurse Miss Kate 'Kat' Grove Died RAF Halton 5 Dec 1931 aged 29 - she is buried in Brockley and Ladywell Cemetery

She was born in 1902 - I believe in Deptford, London, England

The trouble is she is buried in a Family Grave of

Henrietta Howarth (nee Grove) 1842 to 1900
    Richard Howarth 1845 to 1920

    - They married 1872

There is a 4 body Edward Howarth died December 1926 - Possibly aged 2 ????

However I cannot find a birth for Kate Grove - I know she is on the 1921 Census living in Lewisham, London & Kent, England

I want to see who else is living their - She can't be Richard Howarth and Henrietta Grove Daughter (Henrietta died before she was born) - I assume she was their grand-daughter - but I wonder why she look her Grandmothers maiden name ? -

I am hoping to find her parents, relatives and any sibling that will enable me to find out what name she was born under circa 1902?

All I know is she was Kate Grove by 1921 - Thanks Paul

    Paul

I can't access the 1921 Census, but the 1911 Census has a Kate Grove, b. 1902 at Deptford, London, living at 85 Osborne Road, Levenshulme, South Manchester with the Billinge family and Hettie Grove, aged 37.

The two are described as 'visitors' and Kate is at school. Hettie is listed as having been married for 11 years, and was born in Manchester. However, she's recorded as not having any children.

Hettie is derived from Henrietta. I think she's possibly Alice Henrietta Howarth, who married Edward Albert Grove in 1899 at Greenwich. Edward is on the 1911 census living at Catford with his father-in-law Richard Howarth, as well as his sister her son and daughter. Edward is also recorded as having been married for 11 years and as with Hettie he's recorded as not having any children.

    NOT

    Births Dec 1901
    Grove Catherine
    Camberwell
    - Died Same year

    As per Simons note

    Parents were probably
Alice Henrietta Grove (nee Howarth) 1873 to 1961
Edward Albert Grove 1863 to 1928 (prob 4 body in Grave)

I know 1901/1902 issue but it is only name that I can see that fits

Apropos of nothing, Edward Albert Grove died on November 4th 1928, and left £17,775 in his will, which works out at around£900,000 in today's money, so I'm a bit surprised his death didn't make the newspapers!

On the 1911 Census he's recorded as being a Casing Dealer in Sausage Skins...!
