James Gordon WOOLLATT DFC 82710 RAFVR
12 Squadron Sept 1943 to May 1944
Chris
Hi all
Long shot here but has anyone ever come across the above-named chap and could tell me which squadron he belonged to?
According to the ORB he landed at Woodbridge in the early hours of 3/1/1944 returning early from an op (to Berlin?) due to icing.
Unfortunately it doesn't give any more details or say which Sqn he was with. The ORB only says "F-R Sqdn" which doesn't mean anything to me.
Many thanks
Ian

Thanks Chris. I’ll check the 12 Sqn ORB. Not sure that’s him as the spelling and initials are different. But as we all know ORB’s aren’t infallible!

Hi Ian,
Chris is right. The 12 Sqn ORB also says:
„… Mission abandoned 0125 hrs. … due to icing …. Jettisoned safe … Route enemy coast Noorwi T??hout (Noordwijkerhout).
English coast in Onfondness (?). Landed Woodbridge.'' "0245‘‘
POSTING OUT: (May 1944) A/S/L Woolatt, J.G. 82710 GD(P) Posted to 1667 C.U. wef. 22.5.44

Ah, ok, thanks Mojmir (and again Chris). You beat me to the look-up.
But that can be another one added to my ‘Woodbridge Arrivals’ list. Only a few thousand to go now!
