Notes:
A13859 These medical files were simple dental records, except for WAAF Davies, where 4 folios were redacted, sealed in the usual envelope in the orig file.
A8231 Graves Reg Cards are of no help with these deaths in Aus after repat and demob. Could assist deaths on active service: "killed in action" noted eg.
A9301 "Death attributable to war service" is a formal assessment as shown on file, if present, no further detail.
One more visit at least to come: for
Davis 89474 when assessed for access and
Hunt 128743 when avail in NAA after digitising

The undigitised A705 for 52048 AC1 Robert Alexander McTaggart makes cross-reference to 12561 AC1 Lawrence Stroud Langford. In Langford's A9301 is a minute sheet from the Court of Inquiry relating to McTaggart's death;
"The late No. 52048 AC1 MacTaggart (sic), R.A. was accidentally killed at approx. 1415 hours on Saturday, 18/7/42, 3 1/2 miles from Deniliquin on the Moulamein - Hay Road, whilst travelling as a passenger on a motor cycle owned and ridden by the abovenamed airman."
Langford suffered abrasions and mild concussion. No blame was attached to him for the accident. At the time, he was serving with 7 SFTS at Deniliquin.
Some rummaging in Trove has led to the following in 'The Riverine Grazier' newspaper of Fri 24 Jul 1942:-
"A sad fatal accident took place on the Deniliquin-Hay road on Saturday afternoon, by which A.C.I. Robert Alexander McTaggart. R.A.A.F., lost his life. Deceased had gone with another Air Force man on a motor cycle from Deniliquin to Pretty Pine. On the return journey the back tyre of the machine blew out, and McTaggart, who was riding on the pillion seat, was thrown off with great force, striking the roadway head first. A Mrs. Higgins came along shortly after the mishap occurred, driving a lorry, and she conveyed deceased to hospital, but he died on the way. McTaggart hailed from Albury."
Regards,
Jeff
ETA: Alan Stoor's "RAAF FATALITIES IN SECOND WORLD WAR IN RAAF SQUADRONS AND SUPPORT UNITS" has McTaggart as a Clerk General serving at 7 SFTS, details as above

Re Jon's #25 RAAF list,
Quite beyond me, unfortunately.
Bear in mind at least the main Record of Service files are being progressively digitised by the NAA, so at some point - I forget the date, next year perhaps? - anyone will be able to look these files up.
For the 7 cases I did undertake to check (Post #23), those files were the most, if sparsely, relevant.

Further to my Post #23
Davis 89474
access still not assessed though the stated deadline is now 2 weeks back.
Request still live in the system with orig date due 26 Oct unchanged.
Hunt 128743
Digitised A9301 file now on line by Record Search.
See https://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/Sear...aspx?B=5354313
Which records him as "Discharged on Demob" 15 Feb 46, no indications of health issues.
Noted there "no crimes" and sound conduct assessments.
But there is also an A471 Court Martial file for him, date 3 & 4 Jan 46 - ie resolved before being afforded a clear discharge. Not open. Presumably cleared.
Then Deceased 27 Nov 1947. No note re cause or if related to war service on A9301. He was 33.
That'll be all from me on this one.
I won't be able to pursue Davis before the New Year, even if NAA do declare it open.
I may report back further then.
