Default Form 1180 Accident Card Database - on RAFCommands

Announcing another new database that is being built.

    https://www.rafcommands.com/database/f1180/

This is a database of Form 1180 Records. Courtesy of Ross

Ross had very kindly offered the Data records for integration into our databases.

Most of the forum general public questions come in the request for a specific date or name rather than narrowed down to year, type and date. I'm offering to transfer for forum use the digital images for initially 1919 to 1936 sorted into individual card images (front and back) in date sequence.

For RAF Commands to build and provide an index to the images with the linking to other sources/archive as you have done with the integrated AIR81/Unaccounted/Pow/Serial database would continue to keep it at the forefront of research.
    -------------------------------

So what you see at the link above is a "Pilot Project" the result of some transcribing efforts of the initial batch of cards that Ross had transferred. Paul, Andy, Malcolm have all contributed in getting this to the current state.

https://www.rafcommands.com/database/f1180/ This is the listing page - and clicking on the serial will take you to the "Details" page under the serials database.

The old serials detail page will pull a F1180 record if it exists. An example of the detail is https://www.rafcommands.com/database...php?uniq=D7198

There is also a view F1180 page - which is here only as a proof of concept and it works only for the year 1920 https://www.rafcommands.com/database...php?uniq=H1961 - This page is a temporary one to showcase how we may want to show the F1180

Though we started off with the best intentions - trying to capture as much data as possible, the following fields will be captured to make this a useful tool for querying.

    Date
    Aircraft Type
    Aircraft Serial
    Unit
    Airport / Place / Country
    Pilot Name and Rank
    Passenger and Rank

I am looking for volunteers who can assist in the transcribing work.. it need not be card to card transcribing.. it could just be picking some blank records and adding data from the fields...or correcting names, or correcting serials etc.. to make this DB complete. Please do respond in this thread if you would like to chime in.. there are many more years to go before this DB gets anywhere close to completion till 1936!
