5 Lancaster Finishing School

Does anyone know whether the records for the above unit list the crews that graduated from there in the Summer of 1944 please? I am looking for any trace of Fg Off C R E Russell, RAFVR, and his crew, who went on to join 57 Sqn (and who were shot down 25/26 August in Lancaster III LM579 (DX-O).

No crew lists of individual names

Three flights and sections for other than pilots - usually about 150 crew per month throughput.

Three pages per month F540 only.

Jonny. I have found the OTU and HCU ORBs nearly useless, rarely recording the movements of any personnel. I think your best bet is to consult the ORB’s of the receiving squadrons.
