Homicide: Charles Robinson White (21) #1300541, aircraftman, [was] charged with culpable homicide by discharging a rifle at another aircraftman, William Blair Morrison, whereby he died immediately, the view was put forward that he was suffering from schizophrenia or split mind. One doctor witness said White told him that he kept hearing voices in his head, and one voice said 'Why don't you kill that man?' White was ordered by Lord Moncrieff to be detained in prison during the King's pleasure. The Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website records that Morison (note spelling) died at 9.30 a.m. at R.A.F. Station Dunino, Fife due to a gunshot wound to the head.

News has been received by Mrs. Philipson, of Whittis Hill, Haydon Bridge, that her husband, Aircraftsman Joseph Hector Philipson, was killed in a raid on London, this being Haydon’s first victim of the war. A/C Philipson was home on leave three weeks ago, and during his stay rushed to the assistance of his brother, whose home had suffered in a North-East raid. In civil life he was popular as a Haydon F.C. member, was the union secretary to the workers at the Langley Barony Fireclay Works. He leaves a widow and a six-year-old daughter.
