Perhaps may also be listed as Mechanical Transport as per the original nomenclature which came into use (well before the outbreak of WW1) in British Army to describe all types of LAND transport other than mules, camels, elephants, and perhaps horses. So far as I know, in the RAF, MT was always interpreted as Mechanical Transport. Even in one far-distant ofspring of the RAF (the one in New Zealand called the RNZAF), this interpretation was understood by many in the equipment branch (but, sadly, not universally) as recently as the 1990s, although "Motor" has been trying to push "Mechanical" out of the nest for decades!
