Default Aircraftman 2nd Class Patrick Carter/Carters Died 7 August 1920 Iraq

    All

I am trying to confirm Aircraftman 2nd Class Patrick Carter/Carters 333679 who died 7 August 1920 Iraq due to Heatstoke was actually Carter or Carters

He was previously WO 372/4/40801 Army Service Corps T/27570

But the following are all confusing - I was wondering if his Pension record has anything about next of kin or where he born - so I can trace his actual name ? His service record does not exist and I can't find him on British Armed Forces Overseas Deaths

    • Air 78 "Carters, T" -
    • Pension "Carter, P" / Caster P
    • CWGC Carter
    • Medal Roll Carters Patrick Driver Royal Air Force 333679
    • Driver Cas Card Carter

    Thanks Paul

Not sure if this clears it up, but:

Fold3.com has a Form S.B.36-D pension claimant form which appears to have 'Carters' but it's handwritten. The claimant is his niece K. Tracy, whose address is Dublin Street, Granard, Co. Longford.

There is another Pension Form which definitely has Carters.

His Medal Card has 'Carters' (in capitals, no less) and as you mention it records that he had previously served with the A.S.C. (B.H.T.D.), Service No. T/27570. B.T.H.D. is 'Base Horse Transport Depot.'

However, the Index to War Deaths 1914-1921 has 'Carter' just to confuse matters!

Simon Thanks I had suspected he may be from Ireland and while it provides no more info at least I know where he is from 100%
