Default Air Mechanic 2nd Class James W CONLIN Suicide 30 December 1920 full ID Pension

Air Mechanic 2nd Class James "W" CONLIN of 30 Sqn Suicide 30 December 1920. He was serving as a Wireless Operator with No 30 Sqn when he committed suicide by cutting his throat and is buried in Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery. - Ok But I am trying to fully ID him - after my last success for Patrick Carters

I would like any information on his Pension records like Next of Kin to help me fully Identify him ? (I think he might be just "James Conlin" and address - I think "L Conlin" and "G Conlin" are mentioned

    His Service record has

    James
    Conlin
    1885
    Wexford
    1903
    138912
    Grocer Pension

    Air 78 Conlin, J (138912)

He has James W on Grave

    However Pension n has J Conlan/ J Colin

UK, World War I Pension Ledgers and Index Cards, 1914-1923 Name: J Conlan
    Military Date: 1914-1920
Military Place: England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, United Kingdom

    Morning Paul

    All a bit messy!

    Fold3.com has the following:

A Pension Card for 138912 J. Conlan, Pte, R.A.F. - claimant is his father of 5 Sandford Park, Donore Avenue, Dublin.

It has another Pension Card for 138912 Pte. J. Colin which states 'see CONLAN J' amd also 'see CONLON' and had an address in Wexford.

There is a Dependent's Pension card for CONLON J, 138912, Pte, R.A.F. d. 30.12.20 Self Inflicted Wounds. The Dependent is his father, Mr. J Conlon, of Drinagh, Wexford. This card has an amendment 'see CONLIN J.' at the top.

There is yet another Dependent's Pension for COLIN J., 138912 Pte, R.A.F. with the same dependant's name as the one above! This one has 'see COLIN' but this is crossed out...

There is a Form S.B. 36-D Pension Claim form for Conlan J. R.A.F., 138912. This has the claimant as his father, Mr. J. Conlan, of Drinagh, Wexford.

Finally, there is his A.M. Form 175, which has James Conlan, amended to Conlin. Born 1885, Tagoat, Wexford. Enlisted in the Army on 20.3.03, joined the R.F.C. in February 1918, and then the R.A.F. when it came into being on April 1st 1918. Died 23rd B.S.H. Baghdad. N.o.K. is the father James Conlan [sic], Drinagh, Wexford.

So I'd guess his (amended) A.M. Form 175 is correct, and it's CONLIN.

    Paul

His Army Form B.217 attestation papers are on ancestry.co.uk.

James Conlin, b. Mayglass, grocer's assistant (also on his A.M. Form 175). Aged 18 years 2 months, dated 19th August 1902. This conflicts with the date on his A.M. Form, but the age is the same. Army Service Number 7623.

Under 'Distinctive Marks' it records a tattoo of 'B.V. and Anchor' on the back of his left wrist, also recorded on his A.M. Form.

I see from his A.M. Form that it records that he'd had his right eye removed on 15th May 1915 due to 'G.S.W.' on May 7th 1915 - is that gun shot wound?
