I don't have anything for these, from the ORBs I have found quite a few accidents on this date but all were non-fatal.
What were the places of death registration for:
Cpl Henry B.P. BURGIN - 292056 - age 41 - died on active service;
F/O Edward G. NEWMAN - 43381 - died on active service, and
Sgt (Obs) Robert O. ROGERS - 979582 - 235 Sqn (Blenheim - Dyce, Aberdeenshire) - died of wounds or injuries received in action.
No proposed aircraft losses for this day.
Regards and thanks for your help.
Henk.

Hi Henk
Burgin, 41, registered at Nottingham
Newman,56, registered at Aldershot, Hampshire. The age ties in with CWGC and he is buried at Brookwood which is in the area.
Rogers is buried at Lerwick and possibly died there

Rogers died of 'penetrating gunshot wound' at Gilbert Bain Hospital, Lerwick.

Thanks friends for your responses. Rogers may have been wounded aboard an aircraft that returned safely to base (probably at an earlier date ?). Only the ORB may tell us what happened.
Regards,
Henk.

Stapleford & Sandiacre News - Saturday 27 September 1941
"DEATH OF MR. H. B-P. BURGIN
A Serviceman of the last war, who was giving service in H.M. Forces during the present campaign, Mr. Henry Baden-Powell Burgin, R.A.F., of 27, Martin-road, Chilwell, passed away last Friday in a military hospital.
He had served on the staff of the L.M.S. Railway Co. since 1919, in recent years being employed in the outside department of the company at Long Eaton.
When the funeral took place on Thursday, representatives who attended from the Long Eaton staff were: Mr. B. W. Barker (stationmaster) and Mr. R. Sills (representing the Outside Staff of the Goods Department). The interment was at the Chilwell Cemetery.
The late Mr. Burgin, who was held in affection by a host of colleagues, was called up for service in the Royal Air Force in August, 1939. He was 41 years of age, so he would have been only a mere youth when he served during the last war."
Unfortunately, no cause of death given.
World War II Index to Allied Airmen Roll of Honour, 1939-1945 states he was based at RAF Digby.
