    Henk,

    Re: Spitfire I - X4651 - 61 OTU.

X4651 was a presentation aircraft; "DARJEELING".

X4651 joined No.61 Operational Training Unit at Rednal on 16 August, 1941. On 26 September, it landed across the path of two other aircraft at Hendon; the pilot forced the undercarriage down to avoid them but he touched down heavily and the undercarriage collapsed. Sgt H.E.R.van Moffaert, a Belgian, was unhurt, but X4651 was struck off charge on 29 December, 1941.

    Gifts Of War/Boot & Sturtivant. p.118

I was concerned that posting this next batch of answers from the F1180s would have put Henk under too much pressure to update after his request to remove his user name.

I now post them to contine his legacy on RAF Commands.

Carr confirmed by F1180 as sole fatality on Oxford V3692
