There is a 49 yr old Peter Cunningham registered in Paisley district of Renfrew in 1941, I think that solves that. I'm not going to check the mans death cert.
Ratclyffe and Callahgan are DOAS, in the same list as Cunningham, Calnon, Mulligan

You are right!about1st Qtr 42 but the thing is that from 24/12/ we are in the period that the UK celebrates as the Christmas Holiday and offices frequently shut. Depending on the day of the week the shutdown could last into the New Year hence it is necessary to look at the 1st Qtr of the next year as well as the 4th Qtr of the last. The registration of age as 0 is common for infants under 1 Yr old, my wife has recorded several in 20 years of Family History research, including a potential Uncle of mine had he lived beyond 11Months. A common record when the age is not Known is a simple - and this crops up with both still birth and Air Raid victims where the ID is incomplete beyond the Surname

Dick

Hello
AC2 Robert A.D. CALLAGHAN - 1401603 and
AC2 John H. CALNON - 1441351 - the Birmingham Mail of December 27th 1941 reported:
Two aircraft hands were killed when they were walking along the London Road between Stretton and and the Blue Board and they were knocked down by a car. They were Robert Archie Dennis Callaghan (aged 18), of Southampton, who was killed instantly, and John Henry Calnon (aged 19), of Holborn, who died in the Rugby Hospital.
LAC Eric S. HAILES - 1202572 - the Nottingham Journal of Janaury 3rd 1941 reported the following:
Airman's Death at Sneinton Dale
An airman's death while home on Christmas leave was the subject of a Nottingham inquest yesterday, when the Ciry Coroner (Mr. W. S. Rothera) recorded that Aircraftman Eric Stanley Hailes (28) , of 52, Rossington Road, Sneinton Dale, Nottingham, died from the causes given in the medical evidence: cardiac failure with cranial haemorrhage and acute alcoholism.
AC1 Vincent J. MULLIGAN - 1309661 - the National Probate Calendar has James Vincent Mulligan, of 4 Carnlough Road, Cabra West Dublin, died 24 December 1941 at The Packway, Larkhill, Wilts.
AC1 Raymond ROBERTS - 1121239 - the Manchester Evening News of December 27th 1941 reported the following:
ROBERTS, on the 24th inst. in a military hospital, A.C.1. RAYMOND ROBERTS, the dearly-loved youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Roberts, of 20, Leicester Avenue, Timperley.
After a little digging, I came across this, from the Daily Record, January 28th 1942:
Motors Crash in Black-Out
After a proof lasting several hours in Inverness Sherrifs Court yesterday, Tainsh Aird, motor mechanic, Oakbank, Lentran, Inverness-shire, was fined £10 and his driving licence endorsed on being found guilty of driving a motor-car recklessly and in a manner dangerous to the public.
Evidence was given that a party of airmen were paraded on a public road in he black-out when Aird's car ran into them. Seven men were injured, and one, Rayond Roberts, died.
Mr. John MacBean, solicitor, agent for Aird, said there had been appalling negligence when a party of airmen were paraded on a public road without lights to warn traffic of their presence.
Sherriff P. J. Grant said he took into consideration that possibly other people were at fault.
So, from those two articles, the Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website records that Roberts died at 8.45 a.m at Ragmore Hospital, Inverness, due to heart failure resulting from injuries resulting from being knocked down by a car.

Simon
