    Alain,
Unfortunately his records are not yet digitised in the Australian NA, but the nominal roll gives the following:

Date of Birth 30 Jun 1924
    Place of Birth PERTH, WA
Date of Enlistment 11 Aug 1942
    Locality on Enlistment Unknown
    Place of Enlistment PERTH
    Next of Kin BARNETT, FREDERICK
Date of Death 29 Dec 1944
    Rank Flight Sergeant
    Posting on Death 170 Squadron
WW2 Honours and Gallantry None for display
    Prisoner of War No

Note the last entry! Hope this helps.

Its not scanned but they do note an aircraft and crew names in the Item Notes when you click on "166/5/868" on the casulaty file.

    Lancaster PD206

In addition to the file subject, the following servicemen are mentioned in this record:

    ROSS C D – (Pilot Officer); Service Number – RAF 178539
    FAULKNER C – (Sergeant); Service Number – RAF 849211
    SHAW S B – (Flight Sergeant); Service Number – RAF 1651549
STEVENSON J – (Flight Sergeant); Service Number – RAF 1681083
    HODGSON F E – (Flying Officer); Service Number – RAF 81736
    HOWDON J C – (Flying Officer); Service Number – RAF 67123

BARNETT, Kenneth Henry - (Flight Sergeant); Service Number - 427611

And checking those names against CWGC give the correct names as:
    FAULKNER, G 849211 29/12/1944
    HAWDON, JO 67123 29/12/1944
    HODGSON, FE 81736 29/12/1944
    ROSS, H 178539 29/12/1944
    SHAW, SB 1651549 29/12/1944
    STEVENSON, J 188909 29/12/1944

All same date of death so I woudl take from that they were not POW.

    Alain,

The crew mentioned above were killed when their Lancaster crashed at Marl where they were originally buried before being moved later to Reichswald. They were on an op to Scholven-Buer. Info from Bomber Command Losses by W R Chorley.

Just found your enquiry. My Father was Flt Eng George Faulkner Killed on 29/12/1944. Every year I put a wreath on the memorial at Hemswell. Did you get any photos. When I checked Kenneth Barnett was fron Wembly WA. which is near Perth. He lived in Bath Street and there were still Barnett's living there dont know if they were related never got round to write.
