Is it still possible to access posts on the old board? If so, I confess to failing totally and could use some guidance.
Thanks,
Bruce
Hi Dennis
Shouldn't that actually be... "porteous site:rafcommands.com" (with an 'S')?

Yes, they are still there, what are you looking for: One message or everything?
I've to admit I can't seem to get into the topics list of the archive just right now but using the google site:rafcommands.com search certainly does work still.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am trying to find a thread that I think I started, don't recall the date. Do I have to log in? I have tried and it doesn't accept my log in name/password.
Bruce
No, the old board is dead, no longer accessable, it is an Ex forum. You cannot log in, can't search from the old board itself, but you can search from Google.
For example I want to find an old thread containing the Airman porteus as above.
when searching in Google
using the string in the search box
porteous site:rafcommands.com that will allow google to search within RAFcommands domain for that word and return each example it finds.
Can you please suggest what your looking for as we have four posts here now and getting no where, what was the subject of the thread your looking for, any details at all I'm sure it can be found.
Here are some of your old posts:

Good guess! 816 FAA was the first one I want. Sorry if it tried your patience, but the goal was to learn how to access the old forum, not to have someone do it for me. Perhaps others reading this updated account of how to search the Old Forum will benefit.
I didn't 'get it' when earlier posts in this thread refered to Google searches. Now I see the way, I will use Google to trawl for more.
Thanks for the help,
Bruce
Can folks see if this link works, its to the archives of the old forum, 'General Questions' section.
http://www.rafcommands.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?forum=DCForumID6&az=list&archive=yes
The equivalent link for the old 'Useful Books and Research Materials' is throwing up an error.

The first link did not work last evening on my home laptop using firefox. At work we have MS Internet Explorer 6.

Hi Dennis,
The first link works. I am using Firefox.
The second is coming up as an error.
Regards,
Dave
been meaning to add this, if you get a result like this from Google:
http://www.rafcommands.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/Data/15601.txt
where the format is in text, running off the side of the screen
use this link format below, replacing the thread number with the one you want, in this case 15601
http://www.rafcommands.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=15601&forum=DCForumI D6&archive=yes
makes it more readable to say the least.

The info above no longer works it seems in the new forum. Need to find the new format if there is one.
