    Default Unaccounted airwoman and airmen - 3-7-1942

    What were the places of death registration for:

    A - Died on active service:
    LAC Eric D. EAST - 1324334;
    LAC Kenneth McGEE - 975958, and
    LAC Bernard V. SHAW - 959558.

    B - Killed on active service:
    LAC (Ba u/t) Joseph A. WILD - 1576055.

    C - Not found in Flight archives:
    ACW2 Florence M. FLETT - 2095571, and
    AC2 Harry WATTON - 1499699 - 2075 Sqn RAF Regt.

    D - Proposed aircraft losses:
    Magister I - R1889 - 21 EFTS - flew into ground near Taplow, Buckinghamshire (already as a casualty on this a/c: Sgt A.G. TERRY - 2983549).
    Master III - W8772 - 5 (P)AFU - crashed in forced landing Edleston, near Nantwich, Cheshire.

    East,19, registered at Amersham, Buckinghamshire
    McGee,20, registered at Andover, Hampshire
    Shaw,22, registered at Cirencester, Gloucestershire
    Florence Flett,22,Registered in Gloucester Rural
    Watton,25, registered at West Glamorgan, S Wales
    Wild didn't come up but he possibly died outside England and Wales, although he was taken home to Burton-on- Trent, Staffordshire for burial

    There is a 31 year old Joseph Arthur Wild in the Barr district, Ayr, Soctland.

    F M Flett is DOAS in the Sep 10th 1942 magazine

    Gave up looking for Watton, sorry!

    For Wild see my post for the 2nd.

    Shaw was recorded in the No.53 OTU ORB:

    July 3rd 1942, “Sgts Pearce and Swan killed in flying accident, colliding in mid air.”

    Multiple sources places the mid air collision on the 5th of July.

    Alexander G Terry is in the Eton district age 20. Buckinghamshire, I clicked on the wrong link first!

    Terry,20 is registered at Eton,Buckinghamshire,right for Taplow but it is a fair way S of Amersham and I think too far to connect him and East

    Mid-air 5-7-1942:
    Spitfire IIA - P7504 - 53 OTU
    Spitfire IIB - P8592 - 53 OTU
    collided Welsh St.Donats, 2½ mile NE of Cowbridge, Glamorganshire.
