Inquest on R.A.F. Office A verdict that Flight-Lieut. Arthur Copestick (37). 30 Greenways, Epsom, "shot himself whilst the balance of his mind disturbed," was recorded by the Derehern district Coroner (Mr. W. J. Barton) at an inquest at an RAF station in Norfolk on Saturday. Warrant Officer Thomas William Elismore gave evidence that Copestick was of a Worrying nature. The Medical Officer of the station, Squadron Leader V. P. Geoghagen, said deceased had a bullet wound in the right temple with powder burns surrounding it. Squadron-Leader Reginald Stanley Barbour said Copestick was commissioned in December and came to the station as senior equipment officer at the end of July, being selected Over the heads of some officers his senior In date of appointment. He was always very cheerful and extremely conscientious. Samuel Copestick said deceased, his son, was married with two children. He had told witness he intended to get as high as he could in the RAF His bank balance was very good.
