G'day Everyone
As you can probably gather, we are still getting porno spam from a very persistent source.
Unfortunately, with each one comes a number of 'views'. If you really have to view porno, please go to another site to fulfil your fantasies.
Cheers...Chris

hello,
Another explanation for a number of "views" could be that some forumites (myself including) are moving from one post to another using the "previous thread" button. So if there's a porno spam as there was one yesterday, I've viewed it a couple of seconds while passing from one thread to another.

Opps thanks for idea Joss, till your post I have no idea that it is possible to move among posts this way! « Previous Thread | Next Thread » were to small for me...

It should also be remembered that a lot of the "views" aren't actually members but guests and/or google, yahoo etc bots. A quick look on who's online just now showed 3 "guests" looking at this thread.

Though I have not been baited into viewing any of these offensive postings, I have noted that those creating them are quickly deleted from the lists of registered members. This raises a question (not important - just curious) about the numbers of members which, as I write stands as 361 "Members" but only 238 "Active Members". What accounts for the difference of 123 ? Are these people who have registered and then been deleted for spam or copyright offenses ?
Hi Hugh,
Yes. The same person has registered, manually inputting the "magic eye code" over 100 times using over 100 different ISP addresses.
The old board which now requires registration but does not permit any postings "attracts" between 10 and 20 spam registrations daily
Regards
Ross
