Henk will probably answer himself on this website in due course, but based on experience he only has limited infomation. Such as date, casualties and aircraft serial number and location.

    Hi Gents,

Some missing detail for Sgt Howell of No.103 Sqn to add to that in Chorley.

    No.17(P)AFU ORB records

    10 April
Lancaster ED724 crash landed on aerodrome, having been badly shot up during a raid over Germany.

    SSQ Report
On the 10th April at about 01:00 hrs an operational aircraft crash landed on the airfield (Watton - Ross) on the return from operations. The tail gunner was dead and the tail turret burnt out. The Flight/Eng had burns to one hand received while putting out the flames. The mid gunner had numerous shrapnel wounds to both legs and one arm, and a compound fracture to the left tibia and fibuia. He was admitted to RAF Hospital, Ely. All other members of the crew un-injured.

    Regards
    Ross
