What were the places of death registration for:

A - Not found in Flight/Global:
LAC Donald McCOLL - 991629, and
AC2 Jack THOMSON - 1325417.

B - Died of wounds or injuries received on active service:
W/O (Airgunner) Joseph F. NUTT - 751569 - 57 Sqn (scampton, Lincolnshire). It's possible that he was injured on board of an aircraft; 57 Sqn participated 8/9-7-1943 in a raid on Cologne.

C - Died on activbe service:
LAC Bertram K. OSBORNE - 1452554, and
P/O Ronald D. WITTS - 132950.

D - Also looking for cause of death of:
F/O (Pilot) Anthony D.H. HAWLEY - 130655 - KOAS and buried La Réunion War Cem., Bejaja, Algeria. He was assigned to AFU Sétif.

I am fairly sure that Ronald Witts died in Scotland, there is 1 match on the Scottish register for that name in 1943, but I haven't got any credits for Scotlands People to check. From where he is buried I'd speculate a connection to the airfield at Perth.

There are 3 people with the name Donald McColl in Scotland, and as he was from Glasgow and is buried in Glasgow I'd say he is one of those 3.

There isn't anyone by the name of Bertram Osborne in Scotland or the Isle of Man so possibly Northern Ireland.

P/O Ronald Witts aged 19 died of natural causes at Bridge of Earn Emergency Hospital, Perthshire.

Was Osborne's first name mis-spelt on the register? I know that a search for just the surname brought up 29 in 1943 but adding Bertram took it back to 0.

Interesting how the registers and the indexing of them can play tricks.
